How To Use The Proxy

To use the proxy cache at Murdoch University, please follow the instructions for :

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x
• Netscape Navigator (2.x, 3.x)
• Netscape Communicator (4.x)
• Mozilla Firefox

Direct proxy information settings are no longer supported. ITS will only support autocache as the method of connecting to the proxy. Users are free to figure out manual settings and use them at their discretion, but ITS will not support them OR give notification of changes to the proxy service thus causing their manual settings to fail.

Because autocache is the only method supported, users old older browsers (particularly MSIE 4 or earlier, and Netscape 4 or earlier) are encouraged to upgrade to something more modern.
